Quality Assessment of Generalised Geographical Data
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper provides a methodology to assess the quality of generalised geographic data. Generalisation consists in representing in a simplified way a same geographic space, according to the scale and to the objectives of the map. The approach is based on (1) a data characterisation in its initial and final state at different level of analysis, (2) a data quality assessment from the comparison of the two previous characterisations and (3) the aggregation of the various assessment results to summarise the data quality. This method is applied to assess the generalisation of a small urban area.

Non-asymptotic quality assessment of generalised FIR models with periodic inputs
This paper presents new results on quality assessment of models identified from a finite data sample. Suppose that we are given a finite sample of measurements coming from a plant and that we are asked to provide a model of the plant along with a certification of the model quality. The certification of the model quality is a measure of how far the identified model can be from the best model in ...

BACKGROUND HIV surveillance systems aim to monitor trends of HIV infection, the geographical distribution and its magnitude, and the impact of HIV. The quality of HIV surveillance is a key element in determining the uncertainty ranges around HIV estimates. This paper aims to assess the quality of HIV surveillance systems in low- and middle-income countries in 2009 compared with 2007. METHODS ...
متن کاملDisease Mapping and Regression with Count Data in the Presence of Overdispersion and Spatial Autocorrelation: A Bayesian Model Averaging Approach
This paper applies the generalised linear model for modelling geographical variation to esophageal cancer incidence data in the Caspian region of Iran. The data have a complex and hierarchical structure that makes them suitable for hierarchical analysis using Bayesian techniques, but with care required to deal with problems arising from counts of events observed in small geographical areas when...
متن کاملA review of volunteered geographic information quality assessment methods
With the ubiquity of advanced web technologies and locationsensing hand held devices, citizens regardless of their knowledge or expertise, are able to produce spatial information. This phenomenon is known as volunteered geographic information (VGI). During the past decade VGI has been used as a data source supporting a wide range of services, such as environmental monitoring, events reporting, ...
